Kasa Chorych

"Kasa Chorych” (meaning HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY) is the real legend of Polish blues-rock. The band was started in 1975 by Ryszard “Skiba” Skibinski (who played harmonica) and the guitarist Jaroslaw Tioskow. At the beginning they played in small clubs round Bialystok. The crucial moment of their career was the year 1978. They participated in the most important Polish rock festivals, they also gained many first prizes and were welcomed enthusiastically by the public as well. All these factors made them extremely popular all around the country. In 1978 they recorded their first songs for the local radio station. In 1980 their debut single track appeared. It was delivered by the private sources to the U.S.A and soon it was on the third position in the annual questionnaire of the WRJC-FM radio station in Baltimore. Polski Blues - Kasa Chorych

W 1975 roku dwójka nawiedzonych bluesem muzyków z Białegostoku - Ryszard "Skiba" Skibiński i Jarosław Tioskow - postanowiła założyć zespół zgodny z ich muzycznymi fascynacjami. Po kilku tygodniach dołączył do nich perkusista Mirosław Kozioł. Wkrótce zaprosili do współpracy kolegów i pod nazwą Kasa Chorych-Blues wystartowali w 1976 r. pod patronatem białostockiego Akademickiego Centrum Kultury. W skład grupy wchodzili wówczas: R. Skibiński (ur. 20.01.1951 r., zm. 4.06.1983 r.; hca, kazoo), J. Tioskow (ur. 30.07.1955 r.;g); Andrzej Kotarski (g); Zbigniew Richter (bg); Andrzej Pala (p); M. Kozioł (ur. 5.04.1954 r.; dr). Niebawem, dzięki współpracy z Miejskim Domem Kultury, zespół otrzymał nowy sprzęt oraz dogodne warunki do pracy. W tym okresie jego działalność koncertowa skupiała się przede wszystkim w miejscowych klubach "Herkulesy" i "Promenada". W 1977 roku grupa wystąpiła w ramach akcji "Chełm 80".
