I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

This Train Is Gone - Frankie Chavez

Frankie Chavez is one of the most promising talents of the new Portuguese music; he has been referred to as the latest Blues revelation of southern Europe. His music combines a diverse array of sounds resulting in a Blues/Folk composed by clean sounds and others more raw and psychedelic. Although one can identify many different musical influences (Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Kelly Joe Phelps, Ry Cooder) it is difficult to find one single word to define his music. This sets him with a unique and distinctive style. A multi-instrumentalist, Frankie Chavez uses several guitars, with different tunings, personalized drums and a wide number of effect pedals. When he overlaps different guitar layers with a loop station, he creates a rich and aggressive sonority, where nothing is left out of place. Through his warm tone and strikingly intimate lyrics he creates a deep closeness with the listeners.

Let Me Love You - Rabbit Foot

JAMIE MORGAN – Vocals, Guitar:
Jamie Morgan was born in Newfoundland – Canada. Frustratingly miserable as a child he escaped into the welcoming arms of a dreadlocked hippy chick and travelled the world as an itinerant busker and blagger whilst carrying nothing but a wooden spoon and a bivvy bag… none of this is relevant. He plays guitar, sings and writes songs… oh and he drums too.

CARLA VIEGAS – Vocals, Drums:
Carla Viegas was Born in Lisbon – Portugal. Speaks like an oxford graduate, grew up in Switzerland, has been a pop star, big band Jazz singer and is now purveyor of her own drum style, roars like Chester Burnett during his time of month and is frankly annoyingly talented… so there.

Coffin For Two - The Soaked Lamb

Vocals, sax alto - Mariana Lima.. Guitar, ukulele, blues harp, banjo, lap steel - Afonso Cruz.. Double bass - Gito.. Piano and organ - Vasco Condessa.. Saxophones, guitar, clarinet, trumpet, concertina, ukulele - Tiago Albuquerque.. Stormy Monday - Rui Veloso with BBKing

Rui Manuel Gaudêncio Veloso, commonly known as Rui Veloso, CavIH (born in 30 July 1957, Lisbon), is a Portuguese rock and blues singer and musician. This composer and interpreter had a great impact on the Portuguese music scene with the record Ar de Rock (April 1980), which influences were Eric Clapton and B.B.King. Songs such as Chico Fininho and A Rapariguinha do Shopping became instant classics in the 1980s. His lyrics, normally written by Carlos Tê, are strongly influenced by the Porto culture. An unconditional lover of the blues, he has played with B.B. King several times. He became one of the most productive and renowned Portuguese musicians, as his discography clearly shows today.
