MISSISSIPPI ALLIGATORS - "EL SEÑOR SATAN"

We are MISSISSIPPI ALLIGATORS a dirty Punk Blues band from Spain. We have been preachin' the Punk Blues in Spain since 1995. Ten years playing in taverns, clubs and auditoriums all over Spain. We think there is some kind of revolution with internet and culture. Everyday more bands puts their music for free download in their webs. The thing is growing and growing everyday. That's right for us, because we think the bands have to play LIVE music to survive. That's why we put our music for free in lots of webs.If we sell our music maybe some of the people who likes our music can't afford it. The paid for us is the people enjoying our music. Our last work 'BABYLON BOOGIE' is CREATIVE COMMONS COPYLEFT licensed.

The Forty Nighters

In the summer of 2006, two young guitarists (Álvaro Leal and Francisco Javier Gonzalo) are known with the intention of satisfying their desire to play Blues. Do not take long to rolling to three types most (Héctor Martínez harmonic, Chema Contreras bass and Carlos Sánchez battery) and in a short time are giving way to an exciting project: get out a band of Blues in the suburbs of the industrial belt of Madrid. Two years non-stop from rolling all over Spain, with the participation in festivals such as Hondarribia Blues Festival, Festival de Blues de Puerto Lumbreras or Contrablues Festival , and performances in television (Visual 777) lead in the publication of his first self-released album in 2008 Keep Foolin' Around . Over the next two years, and with a stable line-up which includes Sergio Valdehíta keys and Pablo Ruíz on drums, they exceed the hundred of concerts and embody this work on another album, recorded in February 2010 (First Aid Blues) and presented with a series of concerts around Europe, making stop in Berlin, Rotterdam, Apeldoorn, Brussels, Luxembourg and Hondarribia. After this stage, become The Forty Nighters at its most visceral and sound close to the blues, with new milestones in his career as a live performance in the program falls the night on Bourbon Street the chain Cope and stores FNAC San Sebastián de los Reyes and Vallecas, participation in the Festival of Jazz of Yecla and at Festival de Blues de Cáceres or being opening for Nick Curran in Madrid. Currently, we have the pleasure of having sitting on drums to Eric Dominguez, with which we have already recorded One In Five Million (2012), the third Studio album of the band, along with collaborations of authentic luxury like Jorge Lera (Downtown Alligators) or Carlos Arsuaga (King Bee). The various changes in the training have not altered the assumptions that led us to form the band and we maintain intact our philosophy: do dance, laugh and enjoy all that is close to one of our concerts.

Livin' in Sin - Larry Smith and the Unfinished Business

If you don't know the Blues, there's no point in even picking up a guitar. And guitarist Larry Smith comes with a warning: Watch out!!! He plays Blues/Rock that bites back! .. Raw Power Blues!! The crowd was blown away!! – Bardies Blues Festival (Larry Smith) The Maestro of the Blues – Agusti Mas (renouned blues guitarist), Barcelona Larry's playing is like a force of nature!! Truly music that bites back. – Radio Macedonia If you miss Larry Smith, you will miss one of the great blues players. – Hi Voltage Magazine, France.. Half British and half American, Larry came of age in the 60's, when Rock propelled music and popular culture into a consciousness that continues to be a major influence two generations later. Chuck Berry famously said, "It used to be called Boogie-Woogie, it used to be called Blues, used to be called Rhythm and Blues…It's called Rock now." Living in London in 1967, he heard Jimmy Hendrix on pirate radio and was inspired to learn guitar. This opened the door to the influences of The Yardbirds, John Mayall, Alexis Korner, The Rolling Stones, Cream, Love, Spirit, Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, Robert Johnson, Lightnin' Hopkins, Bo Diddley and many others... Larry is an impressive and authentic stage personality. In a career that spans both sides of the Atlantic and over 3,500 gigs, Larry has proven he understands how to make great music on stage. His shows are riveting because he knows exactly how to unharness a performance in the moment. He effortlessly blends powerful guitar playing with an expressive vocal style to shape his signature sound...a mix of Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray with a dash of Richie Blackmore. He's firmly rooted in a classic era, but consistently brings a new edge to performances and balances his playing with a technical excellence that comes only from a lifetime devoted to music and entertainment... Larry Smith has toured with More, MSG, Eddie and the Hotrods, Wishbone Ash, Wham, The Three Degrees, Culture Club and The Drifters USA (Bass), Chelsea (Bass) and The Stray Cats (Engineer). He has worked with members of AC/DC, Manfred Mann, Deep Purple, Dio, Rainbow, The Blues Band, Thin Lizzy, Home, Trapeze, Wings, The Stranglers, The Who, Marcus Malone, Cozy Powell, and also many sessions... He has been a major part of the following bands: Berlin, Darkstar, City Heat, Larry Smith and The Blues Exchange, The Heat, Nurse The Screens! and Unfinished Business. After years on the road, Larry finally took a break from music and the music business and moved to Spain. You can take the man out of music, but you can't take music out of the man. It wasn't long before Larry started performing again in and around Barcelona and began making his mark on the local scene with his fantastic guitar playing. He is currently writing and recording new music with a newly formed classic blues/rock trio, Larry Smith and Unfinished Business, in addition to collaborating with many talented and well known local musicians... A diverse and accomplished musician who also plays bass and trumpet, Larry is also a composer/writer, programmer, live and studio engineer, actor and electronic designer. He was the head engineer for The Marquee Club in London for 4 years and The Roadhouse (Covent Garden) for 6 years, and has also engineered various music festivals If you support live Blues acts, up and coming Blues talents and want to learn more about Blues news and Fathers of the Blues, ”LIKE” ---Bman’s Blues Report--- Facebook Page! Big Bang – Diez Tragos - New Release review

I have a new release, Big Bang, from Diez Tragos. This is definitely not blues but a really smokin' release. It has mixes of many styles of music which makers it difficult to describe. It opens with Dueno de mis suenos which is a very cool complex rhythmatic track with atmospheric guitar and vocals over a strong driven beat. If you know Mars Volta (or King Crimson for the earlier generation )this would be the closest comparison that I could make. I like both bands so this is a really good start. Soy Inmortal is up next with a solid single direction but still complex musical pattern. This isn't Lady Gaga! This is serious stuff. It draws comparison to some metal due to some of the vocals and over driven guitars but again to me it's about the musicality and this is really cool. No soy un angel, a much quieter track overall uses the dynamic range to create sonic impact. This track again has tastes of metal but all of the complexity of an orchestra and actually some of the characteristics of later Led Zeppelin. Sufrir has a rock track intro but definitely sounds like it is Adrian Belew influenced and these guys get the metal scream down on this track. Crucificame is another track that starts off quite quiet and builds into a rhythmic frenzy. Again I hear references to Led Zep but in a totally different direction. Like multiple bands have been torn apart and put back together in a creative way that works quite well. Descifrar los signos is a straight up rock grinder built on a classic blues boogie but then over driven with distorted vocals. Ver llorer desiertos is another different track with what sounds like a tabla and then the complexity and dynamics of Volta/Fripp/Crimson/Gunn. If you like these bands you must check this out! La eternidad opens with drumming on what sounds like oil drums and then a very cool guitar riff (not unlike Jeff Beck) but then takes it's own turn. This track has a very strong bottom and again, I really like it. Quien es quien is an uptempo rocker driven by guitar into another staggered tempo track. This track has a cool Frippertronics style guitar solo on it and again a solid refrain. The release is wrapped by Franco Is Dead. Another off kilter track with street noise, disjointed loudspeaker announcements and crowd it is a very solid completion to a very different and cool release. If you have an open mind and like something different, you must check this out!

John The Revelator - Blues & Decker

This quartet from Asturias (Spain) called Blues & Decker offers not very orthodox blues, sophisticated moments and wacky explosions of energy in their debut album. 'Stealin' the blues' is an excellent presentation letter of a band that has a long way to go but can be proud of the current accomplishments. Blues & Decker is not the typical blues band that tries to remain faithful to a classic or traditional sound, nor just cover old and well known songs of the genre in their own way. The spirit that guides the members of the band involves taking the blues away to mix it with many styles, and that's why they decided to name their first work 'Stealin' the blues', title that wants to underline their outsider role inside the genre. Gustavo Perez (lead vocals and rhythmic guitar), Ludwig Molina (drums), Kike Cuetos (bass) and Guzman Lanza (lead guitar and vocals) got together in 2009, and after a few rehearsals they found a lot of common ground in the classic blues and all its derivative forms. Later they came out in favor of a harder sound that could be defined as blues-rock, with all the members feeling comfortable towards the chosen references. On May 2010 they recorded a demo and then played a large amount of shows at bars (the best place to enjoy their music) and festivals in Asturias with occasional trips to Galicia and Leon (Semana Negra, That's All Folks Festival, 1st Gijon Blues Festival Route A66...) After two years greasing the live machinery and composing their own songs, in 2012 Spring the band went into Magoo Studio in Oviedo to record, with Juan Martinez as the sound technician, nine songs that shape their first record. All of them have the blues as background but Blues & Decker embellish each one of the songs with little details, different chords, melodic and stylistic ornaments that result in resounding pieces which move them closer to 70's psychodelic rock (Till dawn) or funk-metal (Tomorrow); they know how to play softly too, in intimate and mellow blues-rock ballads (Blues is dead) or more sophisticated and elegant pieces (Stealin' the soul). When they decide to take a classic path (No worries) or hit the electric blues of great intensity via Chicago mixed up with bits of swing (Posology) they end up being convincing in the same way. And it goes without saying that they do a good job covering classic songs as Shame, shame, shame (Jimmy Reed) -featuring David Garcia from The Blind Lemons playing the harp- and John the revelator, the song that Son House used to sing a cappella. All of that enclosed with nice lyrics that avoid blues clichés and supported by a forceful, brilliant and aggressive sound, reflection of their live performances. 'Stealin' the blues', wrapped in a beautiful design by Diego Perez Gonzalez, is an excellent presentation letter of a band that has a long way to go but can be proud of the current accomplishments. Me and the Devil Blues - Mississippi Martínez

Ain't Gonna Cry - Blas Picon & The Junk Express

It's a train loaded with waste, the product of lost lives, that runs rampant on the rails of the Blues without fear of derailment. Trio that bet on the more austere, stark and virulent side of Rhythm & Blues, leaving apart flourishes and musical fanfare to focus on the interior of this style. With references like Jerry McCain, Kid Thomas or McKenzie George Lightfoot, The Junk Express collects basic, so often discarded items, which make up this musical tradition and carries them on a train with its own name. Raw sound and an energetic attitude… Blues in its essence. Future Blues - COTTONFIELD

Same Old Blues - JULIE GURAVICH & VICTOR ANEIROS BAND

“Lamentations are common anywhere in the world and establish solid relationships among unknown cultures”, said an African poet, father of the theory of blackness. In this way, the blues sung in Galician makes all the sense in the world. And it seems to mean much more when transmitted through the voice and guitar of Víctor Aneiros.

Born in Ferrol, A Coruña in 1960, he's a self-taught and irreverent musician, considered one of the pioneers of blues-rock in Galician.

After playing in various local bands in the 80s and 90s, he began his solo career in 1999, forming Victor Aneiros & Blue Notes and releasing “Que el blues te acompañe” (May the blues be with you).

He performed at various festivals like Antequera Blues Festival (2000), Rhythm and Blues in Aragón (2001), Cerdanyola Blues Festival (2001), Reus Blues Festival (2002) and Montreux Jazz Festival (2002). He played on the same bill as Big Bill Morganfield, Coco Montoya, Raimundo Amador, BB King...

In 2003, he formed Victor Aneiros Band and released “Live in Montreux”, a recording which captures one of the two concerts he gave at this festival. He performed at the Elorrio Festival (2003). With two recordings released, it became clear that Aneiros' take on the blues is irreverent and without pointed purisms. For Victor, the beauty of music is precisely its endless possibilities.

In 2004 he released “Blues Do Amanecer” (Dawn Blues), sung entirely in Galician.

He performed at the 2004 Getxo Blues Festival, the 2005 Sta María de las Azores Blues Festival (Portugal), the 2005 Ourense Blues Festival, the 2006 Torreperogil Blues Festival, the 2007 Seia Blues Festival (Portugal), and the 2007 Gaia Blues Festival (Portugal). He played on the same bill as Eric Sardinas, Deborah Coleman, John Lee Hooker Jr., Ten Years After, Coco Montoya...

In 2008, he released “Heroe Secreto” (Secret Hero). On this recording he puts music to the poems of Rosalía de Castro, Luís Pimentel, Amado Carballo and Ramiro Fonte. He also performs a blues version of the Galician emigration hymn “Unha Noite Na Eira do trigo” (A Night on the Threshing Floor) by the poet Curros Enríquez. Collaborators on this recording included saxophonist Roberto Somoza, trumpet player Hansel Luís Díez, trombonist Edward Chamorro Cabrera, double bass player Xacobe Martínez Antelo, vocalist Paula Martins, accordionist Javier Díaz and banjo and guitar player Juan Cabezón.

He performed for the second time at the Cerdanyola Blues Festival in 2008. He played on the same bill as Eric Sardinas, Raimundo Amador, Shemekia Copeland, Bob Brozman...

This recording includes the song “Miña Bala Perdida” (My Lost Bullet) which was nominated for best song in Galician at the 2009 XIII Edition of the Music Awards.

Por la cara - Predicador Ramirez

From rumba rock to heavy boogaloo, from a stoned ranchera to an anxious ska piece, this couple of songwriters/producers from Barcelona (Spain) shows a complex view of the rock syntaxis in spanish language. They PREDICADOR RAMÍREZ & MANOLO D'MADRE, have a long career playing in well-know spanish bands of the 60's, 70's survivors like LOS SIREX, LOS MUSTANG, LOS DIABLOS and many more artists of diferent sing. AMOR DE MADRE was a common tattoo between the people in the jails. Maybe this image leads the listener to a desperado way of sense, a taste with ironically words around the triviality of live, out of political corrections. Here it can finds, the two first works of them.Latin rythms, ballads, country, bossa-nova flavour, or even funkuy-rock panflets, with no other goal than creare small celebrations of misunderstanding. Drunken Hearted Man - RAMBLIN' MATT

Ramblin' Matt is Mateo Garcia-Martin, originally from Spain now living in London.

Since I can remember I have been fascinated by the blues in all its forms but to me there is nothing like the raw sound of the Country Blues from the pre-war years. In between the decade of 1920 and the beginning of the Second World War and thanks to the field recordings of Alan Lomax and others we have a legacy of many of the artists of the Mississippi Delta region. Names like Robert Johnson, Son House, Johnny Shines, the early Muddy Waters, Charly Patton and many others were the pioneers who helped to establish the roots of the blues and by extension rockan and roll and soul. After the first wave of recordings of the 1920's and 30's some of the artists dies, others gave up music to earn a life as waiters, truck drivers and builders until the publication of a single album helped to expose the genre to a legion of US and British musicians such as Mike Bloomfield, Alexis Korner, John Mayall and Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones. The album was "King of the Delta Blues Singers" by Robert Johnson and it litted the spark for many performers to come back to teh stages after more than 20 or 30 years away. Peter Guralnick with his books on Robert Johnson and Country Blues and Dick Waterman who passed to manage re-discovered names like Son House, Robert Pete Williams, Bukka White, Sleepy John Estes, Skip James and Mississippi John Hurt among others deserve a mention for the effort made to introduce the genre to a broader, mainly white audience thanks to new recordings and performances in festivals like Newport Folk. I was born in Spain and started playing guitar when I was 9 years and first listened to the blues via a John Lee Hooker album, "Boogie Chillun" and ever since I have been obsessed with this music. In 6 years that I resided in the US, mainly in Chicago I was exposed to the electric blues of the Windy City and also took some trips with a guitar and a backpack to the region of the Mississippi Delta where I had the opportunity to learn th eplaying rudiments of this music and, more important the meaning of the blues as a way of life and as a mean to express and communicate your feelings to others. With this collection of recordings I want to pay tribute to all those who love, live and feel the blues as I do.

Sweet Little Angel - B.B.King & Raimundo Amador

The son of a local traditional musician, Spanish contemporary flamenco guitarist Raimundo Amador started playing live in Sevilla's streets under the name of Sargento Platillo at the age of 13. Soon, he began participating in a project called Los Gitanillos, forming Veneno in 1977, who recorded a self-titled album that was released by CBS. After teaming up with his brother, Rafael Amador, a new flamenco band called Pata Negra was born, issuing four albums. When Raimundo Amador decided to start a solo career, he sent a demo to B.B. King, who invited him to New York. The two were playing songs together such as "Bolleré" and "Ay Morena" soon after. In 1995, the talented guitarist formed Gerundina, recording En la Esquina de Las Vegas in 1997 and Noches de Flamenco in 1998. Two years later, Universal released Un Okupa En Tu Corazón. PERRO BLANCO BLUES

White Dog Blues, is a project of proper songs, with very elegant titles, which with irony and sarcasm, treat daily topics of an entertaining way, awkward reflective, different some, and all with a personal character, which gives to the group a character and a very particular personality, which makes to be reflected in his direct ones. Julio Fernández is the drive of the project, being a composer and producer of the same one. He has a big musical trajectory to his backs being a charter member of several very excellent bands in the musical Asturian panorama (Rhapsody in Blues, To Mishap, Delagua) with some obtained awards and several records. He is a guitarist and harp player, and with the harmonica he has collaborated with a lot of of the regional bands in direct or in recordings.
