I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New
York, NY (December 20, 2013) -
The End Records are proud to announce their recent signing of
iconic songstress and lyricist Nina
Persson, known world round as the singer from The Cardigans and for her project A Camp, for the North American release her new
solo album due February 11, 2014.
An innovative
video for title track 'Animal Heart' has been released, premiered via Stereogum,
which follows Nina around a seemingly 'normal day', Stereogum explains
below.
"The
video follows Persson as she goes through a seemingly “normal” day, but as if on
a film set; while she descends the steps of a Brooklyn-esque brownstone and
fetches milk from the nearby market, “crew” members undress and redress her, a
dance posse trails behind, and people carry backdrops to match the scenes in her
lyrics. In her familiar pop soprano she cries “come be my man, babe hang on to
me” over a twinkling synth." - Stereogum
Nina Persson came to fame with Swedish pop group The Cardigans, known world wide for such hits
as 'Lovefool' - the group's first international hit single which topped the #1
Billboard Hot 100 Airplay and #1 Billboard Top 40 Mainstream charts, selling an
excess of 2.5 million with overall album sales for the group exceeding 15
million world wide.
She has worked as a solo artist, releasing two albums as A Camp, has appeared on the tribute album to
Serge Gainsbourg, worked with Manic Street
Preachers (Send Away The Tigers) as well as rock group Sparklehorse's collaboration with Danger Mouse (Dark Night of the Soul) and is a
member of The Cake Sale Collective.
Through her career Nina has shared the
stage with Tom Jones for a unique
rendition of 'Burning Down The House' and performed 'Whole Lotta Love' at Led Zeppelin's tribute show for the 2006 'Polar
Music Prize'. She has enjoyed the spotlight with features in zines such as Pitchfork, The Guardian, Stereogum, The Independent,
Time Out London, The New York Times, Billboard and many more.
Recently Nina has completed a reunion tour with The Cardigans and is looking
forward to scheduling a US tour in support of her new album in 2014. |

Lucille Bogan (April 1, 1897 – August 10, 1948) was an American blues singer, among the first to be recorded. She also recorded under the pseudonym Bessie Jackson . The sexologist and music critic, Ernest Borneman , stated that Bogan along with Ma Rainey and Bessie Smith , was in "the big three of the blues". She was born Lucille Anderson in Amory, Mississippi , United States, and raised in Birmingham, Alabama . In 1916, she married Nazareth Lee Bogan , a railwayman, and gave birth to a son. She first recorded vaudeville songs for Okeh Records in New York in 1923, with pianist Henry Callens . Later that year she recorded " Pawn Shop Blues " in Atlanta, Georgia , which was the first time a black blues singer had been recorded outside New York or Chicago. In 1927 she began recording for Paramount Records in Grafton, Wisconsin , where she recorded her first big success, " Sweet Petunia ", which was covered by Blind Blake . Charles LoBue was one of the fathers of the custom electric guitar business. Charles came to the industry after taking classes from Michael Gurian, first working in and around the guitar repair business in NYC in the mid 60's. Charles' interest in the business began by doing basic repairs on factory made guitars. These were primarily made by Gibson and Fender, the "Gold Standard" for electric guitars, as well as any guitar including acoustics which came through the door. As a professional player in the U.S. in the 60's, Gibson and Fender were the most likely choices if you wanted an electric guitar. It is well known that the Brits used European made guitars as well, primarily due to their accessibility. By the mid late 60's both companies had been sold to larger corporations which were not primarily in the guitar business. The basic perception even today is that the guitars made by these companies during this period were inferior in quality and also l...
