Bman's Blues Report

I just had the opportunity to review the most recent release, Taking the World, by Storm from Warren "Storm" Schexnider and I like it. Opening with John Fogerty's Long As I Can See The Light and featuring Fogerty on vocal with Storm, the original arrangement is pretty much intact with Eric Adcock on piano, Roddie Romero on guitar, Chris French on bass, Gary Usie on drums and featuring a nice sax solo by Derek Huston. On Earl King's Lonely Nights , you get the real feel of syrupy swampy blues with solid vocals by Storm and a real nice guitar solo by Romero and piano solo by Adcock. Very nice.  Bobby Charles' Tennessee Blues has the real flavor of traditional country and western music. With Richard Comeaux on pedal steel, the addition of Beau Thomas on fiddle and the conventional piano treatment by Adcock makes this one of my favorites. Marc Broussard (born January 14, 1982) is an American singer-songwriter. His style is best described as "Bayou Soul," a mix of funk, blues, R&B, rock, and pop, matched with distinct Southern roots. In his career, he has released four studio albums and has charted twice on Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks. Marc Broussard is the son of acclaimed Louisiana Hall of Fame guitarist and former member of The Boogie Kings, Ted Broussard. Marc was raised in Carencro, Louisiana and Lafayette, Louisiana In 2001 Broussard was part of Y, a Christian band. The short-lived band was based out of New Iberia, Louisiana. Broussard's solo career started with the release of several independent efforts, including 2002's Momentary Setback which spawned the hit "The Wanderer", a song about self-discovery.
