I just received the newest release, House Call by Marshall Lawrence , a nod to Lawrence's Ph.D in Physhology and how the blues will cure your ills. . Opening with Mean Momma Blues , Lawrence wastes no time showing his acoustic guitar shops teamed up with Dave "Hurricane" Hoerl on harp. I Got To Ramble has a cool resonator slide footing and simple percussive rhythm with harp. Factory Closing Blues has a real rich vocal backing by the Holmes Brothers. Please Help Me Find My Way Home boasts an interesting melody in call and response with Hurricane on harp. Ballad Of Molly Brown is one of my favorite tracks on the release maintaining more of a rural country sound with rhythmic guitar work and percussion. Rich Man Can't Get The Blues follows the basic 12 bar format with a bit slower tempo. This is another of the standout tracks with sweet harp work from Hurricane.
