Zac Harmon & The Drive - Live - New Release Review

Image
I just had the opportunity to review the most recent release, Live , from Zac Harmon & The Drive and it's super! Opening with soulful, NTRO , Nate Robinson on bass and Gino Iglehart on drums set a solid foundation, with Corey Lacy building on keys and lush guitar work by Zac Harmon and Kingston Livingston really setting the bar. Terrific opener. Blue Pill Thrill has super movement and soulful vocals by Harmon. Lacy on keys works the rhythm with Robinson and Iglehart and Livingston and and Harmon play stinging riffs on guitar really giving this track some kick. Deep blues track, Feet Back On The Ground features Albert King like stinging riffs and super soulful vocals by Harmon. I just received the newest release, Left With The Blues , from Andre' Bisson and it's soulful and tasty. Opening with the title track, Left With The Blues , Bisson wastes no time in digging into a bluesy soul number. His own lead vocals and piano work, kissed nicely by Bil Holinaty on sax, Loretta Hale on trumpet, Kevin Beeby on bass and really rich backing vocals from JP Shalala, Deanna Shalala and Stacy Hunt. Very nice! Pumped up rock driver, Borrowed Time , is fueled by a driving guitar lead by Bisson and Loretta Hale on trumpet. Slinky blues track, Play Me A Fool has a sassy saunter and I feel Bisson's best vocal effort on the release. Jason Logue and Robert Dickson join on trumpet and Rob Somerville on trombone really giving it a full horn sound and New Orleans style piano on this track gives it a real sweet touch. Nice! R&B track, All I Need , has a real Jackie Wilson feel. Again horn work gives the track a lot of fullness and with it's perky beat, compl...
