Zac Harmon & The Drive - Live - New Release Review

Image
I just had the opportunity to review the most recent release, Live , from Zac Harmon & The Drive and it's super! Opening with soulful, NTRO , Nate Robinson on bass and Gino Iglehart on drums set a solid foundation, with Corey Lacy building on keys and lush guitar work by Zac Harmon and Kingston Livingston really setting the bar. Terrific opener. Blue Pill Thrill has super movement and soulful vocals by Harmon. Lacy on keys works the rhythm with Robinson and Iglehart and Livingston and and Harmon play stinging riffs on guitar really giving this track some kick. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

I just had the opportunity to review the most recent release, Call It Confusion , from Johnny King & Friends and it's a great mix of rock, blues and soul. Joined by Tony Coleman on drums, Billy Berberette on bass, Bobby Rush on harmonica and Shannon Wickline on keys, this is a strong opener. One of my favorite tracks on the release is slower blues, Lyric Fountain Station with it's heavy soulful opening and funky R&B rhythm. With it's B3 bottom and Latin percussion this track is a mover. With Rush, King, Coleman and Roanoke Voices Praise Team on vocals, Oh' My Captain has a terrific early gospel infused blues style with only a foot drum, Rush on harmonica and King on slide. Very cool. Strong lead guitar work on Recognition Blues , paired with horn backing by Rick Leatherman on sax, Steve Metzler on trombone, Dr Brennan Wood ...
