Bman's Blues Report

I just had the opportunity to review the most recent release, Standing on Faith , from Corey Ledet & His Zydeco Band and it's a cool blend of R&B, soul, reggae and blues. Opening with Clintonesque/ Prince Intro , you got a funky beat, synthesized vocals and keys by Ledet on Accordion, drums and vocals, Jesse Delgizzi on guitar, bass and moog and Cecil Green on keys. Zydeco track,  Push Me Away  has a cool rhythm and catchy melody. Funk infused, Love Never Felt So Good is a cool mix of accordion and top notch bass riffs over basic drum rhythm, guitar and keys. A pure dance track. With a smooth vocal line, Take Me There is a real nice radio track showing memorable melody, a solid bass line and smooth lead vocals. Breaking out on zydeco track, New York City , Ledet really gets the band hopping with bird calls and snappy drumming over his accordion and driving bass line. Cool.
