Gulf Coast Records artist: Diana Rein - Queen Of My Castle - New Release Review

Image
I just had the opportunity to review the most recent release, Queen of My Castle , from Diana Rein and it's a solid blues rocker. Opening with Yes I Sing The Blues , a cool shuffle, Rein is up front on vocal and lays down solid blues drenched rock riffs. Backed by Michael Leisure on drums, Dave Osti on bass, and Drake Munkihald Shining on keys, a solid opener. Title track, Queen of My Castle is Rein's best vocal track with clean bluesy guitar riffs as accents. One Foot In is a lumbering rocker with a funky rhythm guitar line, solid vocals and a nice blues guitar lead. One of my favorite tracks on the release is driving rocker, It's You , with a springy guitar rhythm and a real nice bass line. Slick lead guitar riffs and nice backing vocals by Steve Polacek, Vaughn Polacek, Lincoln Clapp, Melissa Bonning, Julia Clapp and Mackenzie Clapp give the track just the right texture. R&B track, Chill of the Night is the definite radio track with it's perfect melody and...

Diana Rein & Papermoon Gypsys Perform at Real Blues Festival 7

Image
SoCal's Coolest New Blues-Rock Band! PERFORMING LOCALLY AT: Sunday, Aug. 14, 4 pm - COACH HOUSE, San Juan Capistrano "Diana Rein and the Papermoon Gypsys brought a rollicking show to the Blue Beet. Diana's bluesy voice and Kenny 'Big Daddy' Williams' blistering lead guitar on their version of Jimi Hendrix' classic "Stone Free"  showed why they're one of the hottest new groups on the scene today. Rein's guitar propels the music with a rocking sound, the interplay of her guitar carrying both rhythm and some excellent solo work. All told, Diana Rein and the Papermoon Gypsys provide a hard driving blues sound that's hard to beat"                         ...

Rude Mood Records artist: Diana Rein - Long Road - New Release Review

Image
I just received the newest release, Long Road , from Diana Rein , and it's got strong commercial potential. Opening with title track, Long Road , Diana Rein shows real clarity in vocal performance on a well written ballad with ultra clean Fender guitar work. Very nice! Wild One has a thumping bottom and strong rock bones. A driving rhythm guitar line and aggressive lead guitar work gives this track real sting. Livin' Loud has a slinky feel warming up to a guitar infused rock break. Cool. Green Light has a power pop feel with a springy 3 chord drive under blues lead. Rebel With A Cause opens with a Latin flare but breaks down to a heavy footed rocker. A solid radio style track with modest guitar riffs keeps it simple. The Real Thing has a nice fat Fender guitar sound with with nicely written melody lines. Breakout guitar work on this track gives it another dimension but still staying mostly in the power pop area. Nice. Done Me Dirty , another strong radio entry has some s...
