I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

Anything But Time - Matt Schofield New Review

This is my first opportunity to listen to one of Matt's recordings and I must say that I like it. It is a very uptempo recording with little of the cliche riffs typically found in many contemporary recordings. He is a very skilled guitar man with licks that more resemble Albert Lee than Albert King. That isn't a bad thing. I think SRV has that covered. When he cuts in with one of his solos they are heartfelt and fat. One song, Wrapped Up in Love, does play a tribute to King, but it certainly isn't a SRV clone nor does it sound like a King ripoff. Very nice.
The cd includes 10 tracks and all are very enojoyable. If you like the contemporary blues, this may be your ticket!
