I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

Happy Holidays from all of us!

Christmas Parade
This photo was taken a couple years at the Durham Holiday Parade - Whistlin' Britches, Macavine Hayes, John Dee Holeman and Cool John Ferguson are pictured here; they all had a great time, despite the cold, and the crowd just loved them. The Holiday spirit was catching, and everyone on the float was throwing beads to the spectators. Tim said that day "was the height of my career in showbusiness, it's the best thing I've ever done!"

We wish you a Happy Holiday Season from all of us at Music Maker!
Listen:
Cootie Stark -  Come Home for Christmas
Digging through the stacks: Christmas with Cootie

Cootie StarkMusic Maker has two holiday albums, Cool Yule, by Cool John Ferguson, which we featured several weeks ago, and Christmas With Cootie, by Cootie Stark. They are two completely different records - Cool Yule is instrumental and traditional, while Cootie is anything but. We really have loved listening to Christmas With Cootie as we celebrate the holiday season. This track, Come Home for Christmas, is typically a mournful tune when sung by other musicians, but with Cootie and the gang you can't help smiling and picturing them all having a grand time while recording it. We thought this would be a fun for you to listen to as you prepare for the holidays. Sit back, relax, and just enjoy the infectious spirit infused in the track.

Happy Holidays!
