FPR Workshops January 16-20, 2012 Jorma Kaukonen Engines Revved, Shift Gears: Level 2/3 This workshop invites participants at the middle/higher end of level 2, as well as more experienced players (level 3), for a solid ride into technique and repertoire building. Songs will be taught in their fully decorated versions, but the class will include breakout groups and individual sessions with the instructor, to custom-tailor the experience for each participant. At minimum, there should be some experience with using alternating thumbpicking for establishing a bassline. We will also focus on adding the melody line as a counterpoint, and expand on the use of chord inversions and variations that add spice to the pieces covered. FPR News   December 2011   Thank you and Happy Holidays!      I know this is going to sound like a cliché...but where did this year go? Another cliché.....the older I get, that faster time slips by me. Well, the good thing about those cliché's is that at least I had some great music to listen to as the days passed. We say this every year....but last year at Fur Peace might have been our best year. That is not to say that any one year and the folks that come are any less important. What I mean is that the lessons, the joy, the gratitude and the friendships were just so profound. It's something that we never saw in our three year business plan that the powers that be make you construct before you start a business. I wouldn't have believed it anyhow. Starting Fur Peace was one of the most reflective events of my life. The gifts that have come as a result are too bountiful to name. When Jorma and I say we are blessed, we mean it in the truest sense of the word. I have 5,000 new friends because of the Ranch, employees that are like family, and the grace that allows me to continue to try to make this better ever year. Thank you all for your continued support of our classes and our shows and your countless purchases at the Company Store. In 2012 we will be offering more unique tea blends, some incredibly cool t-shirts and yes....more great music!
