I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

Big Legged Woman - Steve Strongman

Steve Strongman is making waves internationally and at home in Canada as a bluesman to watch. In 2009-2010 alone he has played major blues festivals in Rio de Janeiro, Mexico City & Memphis,TN, as well as two appearances at The Montreal International Jazz Festival, and three at the Mont Tremblant International Blues Festival. He is a hometown hero in his adopted home of Hamilton,ON. In 2010 he was chosen by the Hamilton Spectator as one of Hamilton's "Top 40 under 40", was featured on the cover of Hamilton Magazine, and had a total of 8 nominations for Hamilton Music Awards in ’09-10, winning Blues Recording Of The Year in ’09. He has multiple nominations for Maple Music Awards (Canada’s National Blues Awards), and won the Mel Brown Blues Award in 2009.

Steve has been championed by Holger Peterson(Saturday Night Blues-CBC Radio), and throughout the years has shared the stage with the international blues royalty including Buddy Guy, Kim Wilson, James Harmon, Luther Tucker, Duke Robillard, Ronnie Earl, Roy Clark, Otis Clay, Sonny Landreth, Jeff Healey and Watermelon Slim just to name a few.

Listening to him is guitar paradise, and it is this mastery of the instrument, along with dynamic songwriting, vocal and potent performance styles, that sets this artist apart. Having established himself as a musical force to be reckoned with, Strongman has quickly moved into the top ranks of Canadian Blues music, and is undeniably one of the most compelling young bluesmen in the scene today.
