I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

Aware - Trent Romens - New recording review

I just received the new Trent Romans recording, "Aware" and I now am! Trent is a 19 year old guitarist, singer and song writer. He is obviously influenced by the modern players of the past with his slide playing being very reminiscent of Derek Trucks (Duane Allman) and some of the songs even have the pace and poise of an Allman Jam. Now I'm not trying to at all say this sounds like an Allman clone. It is anything but. Romans vocals on the first track are very modern in style and overall the recording sounds fresh. Much of my listening is done behind a desk while performing other (much less important of course) tasks and often the music just blends into the background. I can tell you that a number of times during my listen of this recording I had to stop and say, what the hell is this! Needless to say, it got my attention. I believe there is a bright future in store for this young man. Play on man!!
