I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

(CAPISTRANO BEACH, Calif.) - After frequently hearing from music lovers that there isn't enough blues music in Orange County, online music guide B.D. McGee's decided to partner up with The Orange County Blues Society to present the Blues & Booze Tour 2013,  bringing some of the O.C.'s best local blues bands to select coastal venues for nine consecutive weeks, beginning Saturday, August 3 at The Surfin Cowboy in Capistrano Beach. Portions of the proceeds from each show - as well as 10% of each venue's food and beverage sales during each night's event - benefit the Orange County Blues Society (OCBS), a non-profit organization that exists to ensure that one of America's greatest sounds - the Blues, thrives and prospers in Orange County. Tickets $20. for each show, available at the door. Info: http://bdmcgees.com/
Among the bands scheduled to perform at each of these shows: Papa J & Friends, the former a well-regarded harp player and vocalist who also presents the yearly Real Blues Festival of Orange County; and Big Daddy Williams & Lexi G, fronted by guitarist-vocalist Kenny "Big Daddy" Williams, who also hosts Friday night's popular "Laguna Blues" radio show from 7-8 p.m. on KX93.5 FM.

They've Got Their Blues Hats On: Papa J (left) and Kenny "Big Daddy" Williams (right) perform at the upcoming Blues & Booze Tour 2013, which kicks off Saturday, August 3.

                          Orange Blossom Blues Society
Presents..."Ladies Of The Blues" - Saturday, June 15

A Very Special Evening of Music Featuring Ten Talented Lady Blues Singers, Streamed Live Throughout The U.S. & Canada From GRP Studios In Orlando

Special Headline Performance by Suze Lanier-Bramlett
(Singer-Actress; 2012 Los Angeles Music Awards 'Best Female Vocalist' Nominee)
(Orlando, FL) - Orange Blossom Blues Society presents "Ladies Of The Blues,"  a special evening featuring ten talented lady blues singers, streamed live from GRP Studios in Orlando, Florida throughout the U.S. and Canada, on Saturday, June 15 at 10 p.m. Eastern Time.  The event is a benefit for the Gary Ingber Musicians Relief Fund. Info/tickets: (407) 862-6882 or www.GRPStudios.com.

Acclaimed singer-actress Suze Lanier Bramlett is being flown in from Los Angeles to headline the concert, which is also going to be made into a recording.

The Orange Blossom Blues Society (OBBS) was founded in 2004 and provides a forum for exchange of current blues news and events while increasing awareness of, and appreciation for, the blues through educational efforts sanctioned by the OBBS, while providing a network of association for Florida blues lovers and it's supporters.

                                       About Suze Lanier-Bramlett
Suze Lanier-Bramlett - music recording artist, working actress with several current movie projects, in-demand cabaret artist - is an bonafide Renaissance Woman in the truest sense of the word. Maintaining a busy schedule of film and horror convention autograph signings, recording new music, creating music videos, and performing at special live events, this L.A. Music Awards 2012 "Best Female Vocalist" nominee and admitted 'Flower Child of the Seventies' who's also the widow of rock icon Delaney Bramlett is keeping busy at a time in her life when most are contemplating retirement or at least, considerably slowing down.

Lanier-Bramlett recently released "Watch What You Ask For," a clever new single and video. The up-tempo, horn-driven, catchy blues-y tune is a cautionary (albeit humorous, tongue-in-cheek) look at the perils of Internet dating that also stars horror-cult star actors Michael Berryman ("The Hills Have Eyes," "The Crow") and sultry Brooke Lewis ("Alien Dawn," "Ms. Vampy" TV Series).

Brief Synopsis of the Bands Performing at Real Blues Festival of Orange County 3

White Boy James & The Blues Express: Having just completed their second album, Whiteboy James and the Blues Express is a detonative force to be reckoned with. Since re-forming in 2006 after a five-year absence, the band has re-established themselves as the legendary band they once were during the Southern California Blues explosion of the 80's and 90's. Whiteboy James has a mesmerizing, driving and sonic stage presence. Signed to OC indie label Rip Cat Records in 2010, WBJ&TBE consists of Whiteboy James (vocals/harmonica); Scott Abeyta (guitar); Blake Watson (bass); and Max Bangwell (drums). www.whiteboyjames.com.

Tricia Freeman Band: One of the hardest-working ladies on the SoCal music scene gigs on average five-six times a week with the Tricia Freeman Band. Freeman has toured Europe from Finland to Germany several times, with different line ups, performing songs from her own CDs and a blend of cover tunes that she makes completely her own with her bold original sound, that can only come from living the songs she sings. Besides Walter Trout, Tricia has also shared the stage with the likes of Spencer Davis, The Little River Band, Olivia Newton John, Missing Persons, Eric Burdon and The Animals. Her latest album that has been released to great reviews is Everyone Can See.
www.triciafreemanband.com.
K.K. Martin: Orange County-based, fourth-generation Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist born in West Monroe, Louisiana. Exposed in the womb to the music of Jimmie Rodgers, Robert Johnson and Hank Williams, Martin began touring with his parent's band at age ten, was transplanted to California in 1969, and cut his teeth on the local L.A. rock scene at sixteen, landing a brief stint with the Albert Collins Backup Band. K.K. Martin is a musician's musician who "delivers polished material via its basic components - a man, a guitar, and a microphone." His latest CD is Naked Blues Volume II (Rip Cat Records). www.kkmartin.com.

Jay Gordon & Blues Venom: Electric blues guitarist Jay Gordon recorded a series of albums for Blue Ace that has inspired comparisons to such legendary guitarists as Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Beginning with BLUES INFESTED (1994), Gordon won much praise from the blues community. Each successive album became increasingly successful - BROADCASTING THE BLUES LIVE (1996), ELECTRIC REDEMPTION (1998), and so on - and the guitarist soon found himself being compared to some of the most legendary guitarists to ever play electric blues. In 2000, Gordon collaborated with Phillip Walker on the JAYWALKIN album for Blue Ace, yet another accomplishment for the celebrated guitarist. His latest record is Blues Venom, No Cure (Shuttle music). www.jaygordonandthepenetrators.com.

Jumpin Jack Benny Blues Band: Entertainer extraordinaire Jumpin Jack Benny is one of the most entertaining acts on today's music scene. Audiences have been thrilled by their frenetic performances since 2003. Front man Benny Cortez brings high energy Blues to the stage reminiscent of the great 1950's rock & roll performers with smoking hot guitar work from Tony "Fingers" Naranjo. They have toured and/or recorded with B.B. Chung King, Little Milton, John Mayall, WAR, Bo Diddley, and James Cotton, among others. www.jumpinjackbennyblues.com.

Papa J And Friends: When it comes to the Blues in Orange County, California, there's no bigger or more passionate proponent than Papa J (Jeffrey Hudson). For the better part of two decades, the affable harpist/vocalist has entertained in venues ranging from House of Blues to the Doheny Blues Festival with a spirited brand of Chicago-style Jump/Blues that earned him "Entertainer of the Year" from the 2010 Los Angeles Music Awards. Papa J is founder of both the Real Blues Festival Of Orange County and Orange County Blues Society. Last Fall Papa J and Friends released The Big Show (Houndog Records). www.papajandfriends.com.
