I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

(Austin, Tex.)      Strangest Things features the songwriting husband-wife team, David and Anne Ducharme-Jones. It was produced and recorded at The Track Shack in South Austin.
Highlighted tracks to listen to and play include:
Strangest Things (rock)
Red Roses (country rock)
Wherever You Go (poignant singer-songwriter)

      David
and Anne added a new facet to their successful relationship with co-writing these 13 songs. Though Anne has sung on David's solo albums and helped with David's songs this is the first time they have completely collaborated on all aspects. The thing they love the most about the writing partnership is the eclectic nature of the songs they bring to life. These songs are snippets of their own history, mostly love stories, including upbeat roots-rocker "Red Roses" and "Two Satellites", alongside moody and ambient "Of the Water", whimsical, jazzy "Wherever You Go", and funky "The Girl Is Gone." Anne steps into lead vocals on rootsey-rockers "I Don't Need You," "Crazy Heart," and "I Was Wrong."

Showcasing nine songs tied together by soulful vocals, sophisticated guitar stylings, rock arrangements, and jam band improvisation, Dave Ducharme-Jones gets down this Friday, October 19 at The Whip Inn.      Displaying his talents as both musician and producer David Ducharme-Jones recorded and mixed A LOUD Guitar at his Noisy Neighbor Studio. Mark Addison mastered it at Aerie Studios. Both places are here in Austin. Guest artists adding depth and soul to the sound include drummer Ian Bailey, vocalist Julieann Banks, fiddler Richard Bowden, vocalist Anne Ducharme-Jones, bassist David Evertson, and drummer Michael Kopp. Just released, the album is immediately beginning to capture listener's ears!

A LOUD Guitar is an original and diverse set of blues-based roots music that will please guitar
fans who like a lot of variety in their collections.” – Blues Bytes

“No, the great guitar tone exhibited didn't get by me!...Overall a solid recording that should
pull from a broad listener base.” – Bman’s Blues Report

Ducharme-Jones embraces his influences and brings them to the forefront. By sticking to his genre-bending style A LOUD Guitar becomes refreshing music for Rock, Blues and Country fans.

Growing up in Des Moines, Iowa David Ducharme-Jones began playing professionally in his early teens when his immersion in music began to define his direction. Moving to Austin years ago to raise his family and be fed by the Austin music community, David has played and continues to play guitar with many of Austin’s renowned bands and artists. David’s personal influences are varied and include many genres of music from blues and rock to Americana and jazz. He will tell you that his weakness is his love of too many kinds of music, but his listeners will find that with everything he plays there is a thread of continuity that defines his personal style, a style that is sometimes classy and sometimes rip roaring rock.
"In a town full of great guitar players, David Ducharme-Jones is carving out his place at the
top of the heap. Sophisticated and fiery, he plays with emotion and style."

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. Blissed Out productions artist: David Ducharme-Jones - A Loud Guitar - New Release Review

I just received a new recording, A Loud Guitar, by David Ducharme-Jones. This album is certainly not mainstream blues but of course has blues attributes...what doesn't. Long Way To Fall is a straightforward rock track along the lines of Golden Earring but concludes with a David Gilmore like guitar passage which is pretty sweet. I Am A Diamond puts me in mind of early JJ Cale work with some interesting guitar work as well as steel guitar. The vocals and composition are well performed and complimented with crisp guitar accompaniment. Left Done takes a definite step in the direction of country rock. The track really puts me in mind of Joe Walsh and Tom Petty (I know...go figure), but it should get strong airplay. Earth Rolls Over is a solid ballad and melodically interesting. Another track that could easily attract air. On Welcome To Nashville DDJ pulls out Johnny Cash's road map and lays down a solid foot stomper. I Ain't Ever Going Home gets a foot in the funk but keeps it more along the lines of Little Feet. DDJ takes the opportunity on this track to flash his guitar card and shows what he's got. My Soul And You, another ballad takes a look at blue eyed soul and again DDJ gets the opportunity to show some soulful guitar riffs. Ruby is a straight up country rocker right off the juke box. No, the great guitar tone exhibited on the track didn't get by me. Overall a solid recording that should pull from a broad listener base.
