CD submissions accepted! Guest writers always welcome!!

I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

Miss Marcy and her Texas SugarDaddys

Miss Marcy is a Bar Singer. She graduated from University of North Texas in 2001 and has spent the better part of the last decade hanging out in bars and playing music with Dallas’ finest musicians. Miss Marcy has been working the Dallas/ Ft. Worth entertainment circuit regularly for several years now. Her musical passion resides with Blues and traditional Jazz. Miss Marcy’s musical style is derived from the Divas from the first part of the 20th century including Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey, Big Mama Thorton , and the like. She rarely does popular standards and instead selects songs that were considered by 20’s and 30’s audiences to be too suggestive for radio or too racial. She has always enjoyed the music of that era and tries to re-create the sound as it would have been. Miss Marcy has a self- released CD of all original music and has been working steadily in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth are doing club gigs, private parties, and festivals. Miss Marcy has been a guest as well as guest DJ on KNON 89.3fm. She has been interviewed by several local publications (Press/Reviews, please see REVIEWS), has been recognized by the International Songwriting Contest 2006, 10 Times Voted "What To Do" by Dallas Morning News and Dallas Observer, respectively. A regular guest on KNON 89.3fm radio, Miss Marcy hosts the Thanksgiving Day Blues show as a musical performer. The Thanksgiving Day show is an international success among Blues lovers worldwide. When not performing, Miss Marcy is a professional educator.
