I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

Mike Zito Exclusive Video Premiere July 17th on
“I Never Knew A Hurricane”
From New CD:  Gone To Texas

Atlanta, GA – presents the exclusive premiere of the Mike Zito video, “I Never Knew A Hurricane” from his Ruf Records release, Gone To Texas, on Wednesday, July 17th. A five day exclusive run will coincides during his month long tour with his band, Royal Southern Brotherhood throughout Europe. The song, co-written with RSB member and Grammy Winner, Cyril Neville, compares the hurricane destruction to a broken heart.

Directed and produced by Mark Bergeron and edited by Amanda Kathleen, shot on various locations in New Orleans and tells the story of a couple breaking up, packing bags and boxes, with an appearance by singer Susan Cowsill who lends her voice to this song and others on the album.

"I never knew a hurricane could be so cruel - absolutely true. Katrina and Rita were my first hurricanes and they showed me first-hand how they could change people to the core - like that of a real heart break." Mike says of the lyrical pain that shows throughout the song.
Gone To Texas was released on June 11 on Ruf Records, produced by Mike Zito himself, has been garnering a lot of rave reviews by critics and fans alike. The CD debuted at #1 on the iTunes Blues Chart and has been holding steadily with reach on various other charts, like and Roots Music Report. Recorded at Dockside Studios in Maurice, Louisiana, Gone to Texas was produced by the Beaumont, Texas-based Zito and engineered by long-time New Orleans notable David Ferrell, giving the album’s mix a decided Crescent City bent, while embracing Mike’s Texas blues and roots influences.
"Zito’s voice spreads plenty of dust and molasses over his lyrics about finding himself and searching for truth…” Nashville Scene
