I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

Poker Game of Life - George Baze

I haven't got any meaningful info on George (Baze) Bazemore but that he was a Chicago blues guitar player who played with many of the greats. anyone who can add a background, please do. Thanks to Michael Lacocque (Mississippi Heat): George played the last few years of his life with us until he literally could only sit on stage and sing without playing the guitar. He was a valiant and courageous man with a pernicious form of bone cancer that little by little took all of his strength. He used to exercise his hand constantly (I mean perhaps in his sleep too) for strength. He was upbeat to the end. A rare gentle man. He recorded with us the Handyman CD where he sings his Dog in my Backyard and our Payday. One of the most charismatic fellows we ever had the pleasure to work with. Used to play with Junior Wells for ever...I took the pre-mix to him because we knew he would not make it to the end. He was peeling an orange with meticulous attention while listening. He was so thin and so weak. I will never forget his smile...He died 2 days later. 6.
